Commercial Buildings

It is said that close to 90% of all new commercial construction is a steel building system. The ease of construction makes a new steel building system more attractive to builders and owners alike. From carwashes to skyscrapers steel has, and will continue to lead the way. Steel buildings are great for workshops or manufacturing facilities, classrooms or church buildings, metal buildings are fast replacing less adaptable building systems. Today, more than ever our world is growing faster and more competitive. Architects and professional building designers are becoming more aware of the benefits of steel from a construction and economical standpoint. As new steel building systems are introduced, we see the bottom line improving on construction projects of all kinds. The ease of construction and versatility makes a steel building attractive for a variety of uses.

Roof Pitch

The angle of a steel building's roof is determined by roof pitch. Roof pitch indicates the rise vertically for every 12 inches of travel horizontally. Our online system allows you to choose up to a 6:12 pitch. There are many considerations with both higher and lower roof pitches. Higher pitched roofs may add to the cost of the building, but can add performance to a building in a heavy snow region. Additionally, you can take advantage of extra space above. High-pitched roofs are less likely to leak and can add style to your building.

Low-pitched roofs require less material and therefore cost less. Also it is easier to heat and cool a building with a low-pitched roof. One major advantage of a low-pitched roof is expandability. If you ever add-on to your building you will be able to add more space while keeping the loss of headroom to a minimum.

Secondary Framing

Secondary framing is created from rolled steel coated with a red-oxide primer finish in gages from 12 to 16 to provide an extremely rigid, and corrosion resistant structure. The following elements are formed as secondary framing:

Girts (walls) & Purlins (roof): These members run the length of the building providing rigidity, and a sturdy skeleton to attach the sheeting. They are rolled from steel coils 12,14 or 16-gauge steel, or thicker if needed. All girts and purlins are pre-punched for ease of assembly.

Eave Struts: This is a rolled member formed into a "C" to match the pitch of the roof. The eave strut is also made of 12, 14, or 16-gauge steel.

Steel Buildings

While steel buildings are excellent for a variety of agricultural applications, steel buildings are attractive and standardized enough to fit into any scenery. The solid construction makes them very weather resistant and able to protect it's contents from the harsh elements. Whether you collect cars as a hobby or for daily transportation, safeguarding them is a way to preserve your investment. Steel buildings can be fitted with a multitude of door systems to fit your needs.

Metal frame and steel building systems are very affordable. Try to get a few quotes from contractors to build a conventional building in a similar time frame to that of a pre-engineered steel building system - the price difference is astonishing. When you invest in a steel building, your money goes a lot further.

Wall Installation

Labels on wall insulation rolls indicate the length as well as the number of pieces that need to be cut from each roll. We recommend that all rolls be cut from a clean location to avoid staining the insulation facing.

1) Cut the dimensions of the insulation from the base angle to eave strut or rake plus 6"-12" extra.

2) Attach one end of the insulation to the base angle using double-faced tape.

3) Pull from the other end to stretch the insulation tightly outside the girts to the eave or rake, and attach with double-faced tape.

4) Make sure the facing is toward the interior of the building and attach the panel to the structure.

5) Install the next roll in the same manner, with edges butted snugly. Then fasten the tabs using one of the methods described.
