SheetingAll sheeting is 26-gauge "R" panel. Color sheeting has a galvanized substrate to prevent rust and corrosion. We recommend that all rolls be cut from a clean location to avoid staining the insulation facing. 1) Cut the dimensions of the insulation from the base angle to eave strut or rake plus 6"-12" extra. 2) Attach one end of the insulation to the base angle using double-faced tape. 3) Pull from the other end to stretch the insulation tightly outside the girts to the eave or rake, and attach with double-faced tape. 4) Make sure the facing is toward the interior of the building and attach the panel to the structure. 5) Install the next roll in the same manner, with edges butted snugly. Both panel types of panel are very tough, and both our Galvalume Plus® warranty and our paint warranty run for 25 and 30 years respectively. The Galvalume Plus® panels cost less, but the painted panels give your steel building a more refined look. Color and Roof Pitch - When considering color over Galvalume, be sure to take the roof pitch into account. Higher-pitched roofs are more noticeable, but with a low-pitched roof very little of the roof can be seen. Controlling CondensationTwo things must be present for condensation to occur: warm moist air and cool surface temperatures below the dew point. The proper control of these two factors can minimize condensation. In metal buildings, we are concerned with two different areas or locations: visible condensation which occurs on exposed surfaces below dew point temperatures, and concealed condensation which occurs when moisture has passed through the vapor retarder and into interior roof and/or wall cavities and then condenses on a surface below dew point temperature.
