A church in Tennessee (above) employs a 60-foot clearspan structure with a specially designed hip-roof to accommodate a spacious open sanctuary. Wood and drywall were used to cover the massive steel beams that meet in the center and support the heavy, built-up roof system. Metal Frame

What is a stronger material than metal? Metal frame buildings are nearly indestructible. You can certainly feel safe in even the worst weather in a metal frame structure.

Erecting a metal frame pre engineered building might sound like a difficult project, but despite this perception, it is really not the case. Metal frame structures are cut to precise measurements and a complete set of building plans will aid in the assembly process.

If you need help constructing your metal building, you will incur additional expenses, so be sure to factor construction cost into your budget when purchasing a steel building.

Building Delivery/Shipment

How long does it take to get my metal building? - It usually takes between 4-8 weeks for your metal building to arrive after the order has been placed. MBD.com will supply you with a estimated delivery date upon order and a guaranteed date after fabrication.

How do I unload my metal building? - In most cases you'll need some heavy equipment (forklift) and a few helpers to get the job done. Everything will arrive at once so be sure to have your location prepped for material. After unloading your metal building be sure to do an inventory of ALL of your items, and let us know immediately if anything is missing. The amount of time to report missing items is limited to 5 days due to job site theft.

What if I’m not ready to put the metal building up when it gets there? - Your materials can be stored. Be sure to look over the information included to properly care for your wall and roof sheets. Please see UNLOADING AND STORING your building for more details.

What will freight cost? - We keep costs as low as possible. Your costs will vary depending on the mileage and the weight of your metal building.

Insulating Against Radiant Heat

Traditional forms of mass insulation, like fiberglass, are effective in preventing heat transfer by conduction and convection, but they less effect on radiant heat. Between 80 and 90% of the radiant heat striking fiberglass will pass through or be "emitted". Entry-ways and lighting, interior wall placement, and location of restrooms are as important in your office building as they are in your own home. Properly planned, your facility will serve your needs for many years to come, and you will avoid future changes or costly remodeling.

Modern ceiling and interior wall systems are very easily adapted to our manufactured building components using standard methods. For instance, perimeter sheet rock walls may be installed by simply attaching metal furring strips (hat channel) to the secondary wall framing members (girts). Similarly, acoustic panel or dry-wall ceilings may be installed by simply wrapping the ceiling suspension wires around the secondary roof framing members (purlins). Additionally, port-a-wall systems may be installed as needed throughout the structure.

Additional loads from heating and air conditioning systems, dropped ceilings, electrical conduit and lighting fixtures, or large mechanical sprinkler systems can be accommodated easily at your request with minimal cost, assuring a full roof-load certification.

The building components may represent a small percentage of the total cost of your office budget. Therefore, we are careful to ensure that the main structural components we provide will be reliable, helping to protect your investment against any water seepage, leaks or storm damage that can deteriorate your office complex.

When selecting the manufacturer of your building components, careful consideration must be given to both function and price.
