Metal Buildings

Steel buildings can be designed to your specifications; these buildings are complement to your home. Youngsters appreciate the extra space to play, practice, or hang out with their friends. If you are in need of extra space but can't afford pricey construction work, a pre-engineered metal building is the way to go.

Perm Rating

The perm rating, or permeance, is a measure of the amount of water that passes through one square foot of material per hour. The lower the perm rating, the more effective the barrier. A facing material with a perm rating of 0.1 or less is considered excellent. Anything with a rating above 1.0 is not considered a vapor barrier.

Jamb Cover Trim

One of the trim options we offer is jamb cover trim. Though common, the red-iron jamb and header around a door opening are normally exposed. Using jamb cover trim is an inexpensive way to improve the appearance of your steel building.

Surface Air Film Coefficient (F)

The amount of heat flow in BTU's per square foot per hour between an exposed surface of a material and the adjacent air. It is the measure of the conductance of heat through the air film that clings to all surfaces.

Facings

In addition to acting as a decorative protection barrier, facings serve an integral part of the overall insulation system. Facings provide vapor barriers, light reflectivity and structural strength. In some cases, a reinforcement of fiberglass scrim is used for extra rigidity and greater impact resistance.

The effectiveness of a vapor barrier depends on three primary factors:

1) Location within the insulated section

2) Permeance

3) Proper installation
