Insulating Against Radiant Heat Traditional forms of mass insulation, like fiberglass, are effective in preventing heat transfer by conduction and convection, but they less effect on radiant heat. Between 80 and 90% of the radiant heat striking fiberglass will pass through or be "emitted". Radiant transfer typically has as much impact on the temperature in a building as conduction and convection. For more information on radiant barrier facings click here. Pre Engineered Metal BuildingA pre engineered metal building is the obvious choice for a church or other type of meeting place. You may have noticed these structures since they are quickly becoming the "standard" in constructions methods. When you are looking for a cost effective way to meet your building needs, you should certainly think about a steel building. A pre-engineered metal building takes the risk out of putting yourself and your organization into debt. It is easy to identify the advantages in a pre-engineered metal building. You could delay development for years while you line up funding, but why? Some choose to rent space from other property owners in lieu of the responsibility of new construction. The problem with this situation is you only have access to your meeting place around someone else's schedule. After taking into account and dismissing these ideas, take some time to think about talking to a steel metal building manufacturer. As property and construction capital become harder to obtain, new solutions become ever more imperative. A pre-engineered metal building may perhaps not be part of the dream you have held for your club, association or church, however that shouldn't stop you. Some of the greatest things come in unlikely packages and we sometimes miss out when we disregard them too quickly. Secondary FramingSecondary framing is created from rolled steel coated with a red-oxide primer finish in gages from 12 to 16 to provide an extremely rigid, and corrosion resistant structure. The following elements are formed as secondary framing: Girts (walls) & Purlins (roof): These members run the length of the building providing rigidity, and a sturdy skeleton to attach the sheeting. They are rolled from steel coils 12,14 or 16-gauge steel, or thicker if needed. All girts and purlins are pre-punched for ease of assembly. Eave Struts: This is a rolled member formed into a "C" to match the pitch of the roof. The eave strut is also made of 12, 14, or 16-gauge steel. ABOUT USCOMMITMENT - Our Company's vision is "to maintain a leading-edge in the design, engineering, fabrication and delivery of the highest quality steel buildings in the industry." We are deeply committed to providing you with this service as a means of achieving our vision. VALUE - Low initial cost does not always provide the best value. It is just a small part of the picture. The values inherent in our designs assist in the ease of construction of the project but more importantly we provide a well-documented system that is easy to maintain. Much of the value we bring lies in the details. There is a true ART to engineering and design that provides added value to the Owner. EXPERIENCE - With over 8 years in the manufacturing business and key staff members with many more years in engineering, we have the requisite experience. Major hardware and accessory suppliers have reviewed our capabilities and recognize us as leaders in our field. Many of our projects involve very difficult project constraints. Dealing with these issues and tight project schedules is the trademark of our success. PROJECT METHODOLOGY - The success of a project lies in the talent of the design team and in the execution of the project. We first provide a strong project team, backed up with a well-defined and proven project execution methodology. Our project methodology has evolved over the years as we have executed numerous projects. It begins with our proposal document and extends through project documents, design sequence, system testing, acceptance documents and to the final delivery of our building system. The key to our methodology is communication. We strongly believe in defining what we are providing and expanding this initial definition as the project continues. QUALITY - In engineering, quality relates to the designs we produce and the timing in project execution. Our goal for design is to provide a superior level of detail in documentation. We strive for uniformity of design, providing details often left out by others and keeping systems simple. The key to being on time is project execution. First, a well-defined project methodology is needed to set the planning framework. Second, understanding of the Owner's needs is paramount. Finally, our years of experience in the execution of critical projects have given us an essential edge over our competitors. Key members of our staff have up to thirty-five years of experience in project engineering and execution. Frame FeaturesConnection Clips - Specially fabricated clips are designed to securely connect structural components. Many companies supply only blank plates that must be cut, drilled and/or welded to components before assembly can begin. In some cases it may require many hours of work to connect required clips. Metal Building Depot details and supplies each clip and placement to every building manufactured. We factory weld all clips onto rigid frames and guarantee the correct placement of all component connections. Don't waste your time and money attaching clips that should have been factory located. Structural Bracing - Most buildings under 60' have sufficient diaphragm action or "panel shear" that provides all the bracing needed to stabilize the building. In some cases of high winds, seismic or snow loads may cause more stress than panel shear can handle, so additional reinforcement may be required. In these extreme cases we will employ the use of X bracing to reinforce the frame. In situations where X bracing cannot be used a wind column is an excellent addition to strengthen a vertical rigid frame column. A portal frame is sometimes used in extreme load circumstances. Portal frames are fairly expensive and only necessary in rare circumstances. Thank you for visiting Metal Building for Lacon, Illinois.
